Objective(s): Learn to use the main painting tools on Ink Art/or sometimes called ArtRage to paint a landscape including a foreground, middle ground, and back ground.

Technology Skills Addressed: NETS-S NETS-S 1.Basic Operations and Concepts 3. Technology Productivity Tools. 5. Technology Research Tools
Uses the stylus to paint.
Technology/Equipment/Supplies Needed: Projector to display art work on student Tablet PCs and Stylus
Resources/Materials Needed: Magazine or Internet photos of landscapes
Preparation (Detailed Step By Step): Have students get references before class.
Process (Detailed Step By Step): Students find several landscapes from internet or other sources for reference. Combine ideas to create their own landscape with a foreground, middle ground, and background.
Assessment (Including a Rubric if Applicable): Student will include a foreground a middle ground, and a background. Students will complete a landscape painting using all colors or tools needed. Everyone finishes in class together.

Standards Addressed: Visual Arts 1.0 Artistic Perception 1.1 Develop Perceptual Skills and Visual Art Vocabulary Identify and describe all elements of art found in selected works of art (color, shape, form, line, texture, space, and value).
Technology Skills Addressed: NETS-S 1.Basic Operations and Concepts 3. Technology Productivity Tools.
Technology/Equipment/Supplies Needed: TV or Projector,
Tablet PC and Stylus
Resources/Materials Needed: Video/CD on The Elements of Art by Crystal Arts. Have examples of art to illustrate the elements of art saved on the computer or on CD. Have printed Word Searches, enough for class or have them on the student computers.
Preparation (Detailed Step By Step): The word Search has been created. If not go to PowerToy Word Search. Go to help>contents>creating your own game and follow the simple directions. Author>create new game,type in the needed words on the right, check fill in random letters. Go to Options>Game level and to see other choices. The video and TV or CD and Projector need to be tested and cued.
Process (Detailed Step By Step): Students watch the video/CD on the Elements of Art produced by Crystal Arts. After video review with the whole class the seven Elements of Art. Have student locate the words on the word search as the review is completed. As a group, orally identify the elements in the examples of art shown.
Assessment (Including a Rubric if Applicable): As the seven Elements of Art are reviewed orally after the video the students are asked to circle the words from the video on their own word search on their computer. This will serve as reinforcement of the concepts and keep students focused. Everyone finishes in class together. If every child has a computer I would need to download the word search on their computers. If they didn’t each have one I would need to print out the word search.

Workshop 1
Evaluate students' oral presentations.
Rubric--copy/paste one rubric per page. Create a folder for each class. For each student use pen feature to circle ratings and make notes on individual performances. Can print them out after and review notes with students.
How the tablet improves the lesson--easy to use, only have to organize on the laptop (don't have to shuffle a mess of papers).
